2. Why does this matter?

Millions of Ghanaians save and borrow through community groups, but their financial activity is locked inside paper passbooks and cash boxes. That makes it hard for members to build a credit history, hard for banks to lend to them on fair terms, and hard for NGOs and government partners to measure real impact. 192G makes that everyday activity visible, accurate and bankable — without disrupting how groups already meet and operate.

3. How does the NFC technology work?

Each member is issued an NFC tag linked to their 192G profile. At meetings, the group officer taps the tag on an NFC-enabled phone to record contributions, loans or repayments. Every transaction is signed, timestamped and synced to the central system — and works offline when there is no internet. If a tag is lost or damaged, a secure PIN-based fallback lets members continue transacting while a replacement is issued.

7. Is my data safe, and who owns it?

Accepted Answer

Members own their personal data; groups own their collective records; 192G acts as the custodian. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, protected by role-based access controls, and never sold. Sharing with banks or other partners always requires the appropriate level of consent, and 192G operates in line with Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
